The Freshman Health class is currently engaged in a study of Social Marketing Norms. In other words, students are learning how statistics are utilized by corporations and advertisers to market products and persuade a customer base. In addition to creating advertisements highlighting the dangers of tobacco use the students are also creating 'nonsense posters' to illustrate the crazy ways a product or idea can be marketed.
A-C Central students attended the Agriculture Career Expo at Lincoln Land Community College today. The students were able to tour the Workforce Building as well as Ag Classrooms. Mini-lessons in agronomy, ag mechanics and animal science were presented. Students were also able to meet with vendors and professionals in the field of Agriculture. Thank you Lincoln Land Community College for hosting such an awesome event!

The A-C Central Post Prom Committee is sponsoring its Christmas Bazaar on Sunday, December 10th from 11 am to 5 pm in the A-C Central High School Gym in Ashland. Come enjoy a cozy and festive afternoon of Christmas shopping, entertainment and refreshment. A variety of vendors will be present, including Pampered Chef, Thirty-One, Lula Roe, LipSense, Happiness Trails Clothing and many more.
A-C Central alum, Kylee Fields was awarded her American degree at the recent FFA National Convention. Kylee is currently attending Lincoln Land full time for Agribusiness Management and plans to go to Western to obtain her bachelor's degree next fall. A-C Central is proud that she is part of the less than 1 percent of all FFA members to obtain her American Degree. A total of 4071 members received their degree this year of which 124 members were from the state of Illinois.

The A-C Central Fall Drama performance of "Murder Runs in the Family" will be this Friday and Saturday night (November 10th and 11th) starting at 7:00 PM both evenings. Cost is $6.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. A good time will be had by all!
Cheyenne Kesselring was chosen as the winner of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Good Citizen Award from A-C Central’s 2018 graduating class. Cheyenne was chosen because she demonstrates the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism to an outstanding degree. Cheyenne will be recognized at luncheon later in the year, and has the opportunity to compete for a scholarship through the program. Congratulations Cheyenne!
