The Middle School English classes are participating in a 40 Book Challenge this year. Students are to read 40 books from various genres throughout the course of the school year. Students are doing a great job utilizing classroom, school and public libraries to help them reach the goal of 40 books in the year. Two students in the middle school have already read beyond 40 books and we are only halfway through the second quarter. Drew Stone has completed 53 books so far this year and isn’t slowing down.
On Wednesday, November 29, 2017 students at A-C Central High School and Middle School will be taking the Winter Benchmark test for the NWEA MAP. The MAP test is given three times per year. We will be running a modified schedule on Wednesday to accommodate the testing. As Seniors do not take the MAP test we have informed the Senior Class that they do not have to be in attendance until 10:09 AM on Wednesday.

There will be a Children’s Christmas Gift Penny Drive and toy collection starting today through Friday December 8th. Each homeroom will have a collection jar to collect money and there is a drop off box for toys located in the MS/HS office. This event is sponsored by Jordan Dyer for his Senior Service project. Let’s make sure each child receives a toy for Christmas!
The 1st grade RTI group with Mrs. Lovekamp does a reader's theater kind of story called The First Thanksgiving : An Alphabet Story. Everyone in her RTI group gets a few parts. She records them and then makes a CD for each family for the thanksgiving holidays. Below is the recording.
Today, Wednesday, November 22nd the elementary will dismiss at 1:45 for car and walkers and 1:50 for bus riders.
Homecoming at A-C Central is fast approaching. Homecoming Week begins on Monday, November 27th and caps off with the 2017 Homecoming Dance on December 2nd. The Homecoming Theme this year is Midnight Masquerade.
