On Thursday, April 13, 2017 A-C Central High School and Middle School, in conjunction with county and local law enforcement officials and first responders, will be conducting an Emergency Evacuation Drill beginning at 9:00 AM.
The A-C Central School District is asking all parents to confirm their residency for the 2017-18 school year before August 1. The need to periodically confirm residency is important in order to ensure the appropriate usage of taxpayer money for the school district. Local tax money is intended specifically to educate those students who legally reside within our district boundaries.
Verification of residency can be achieved by providing A-C Central with documentation using the following options:
This March students will begin taking their yearly PARCC assessment. Students at the elementary began testing the week of March 6th. Middle school students will take their assessment the week of March 27th. PARCC assessment tests evaluate students in grades 3-8 for their knowledge in reading/language arts and mathematics. Also, please read the following letter from the Illinois State Board of Education regarding federal law and assessments.
Ages: 2 1/2 to 4 years old. Must still be 4 by September 1, 2017.

The Band Boosters will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, January 24th at A-C Central Middle School/High School. There will also be a PORTA/A-C Boys Basketball game that night against New Berlin from 6-8 PM with the A-C Central Band performing between the games. Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and maybe some desserts will be available. It will be $7 for adults, $4 for kids 4-12, and kids under 4 eat free! Money raised from this event will be used for A-C Central Marching Knights.

This year, students will take tests called Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA). We give students MAP tests to determine their instructional level, reading level, and to measure academic growth throughout the school year in the areas of Reading, Language, and Math.
A-C Central Band Booster is having a Fried Chicken Buffet dinner at Hollywood’s on Thursday, December 1st from 4-7:30PM. Meals are $9 plus tax with drinks not included. Desserts will also be available. Fifty percent of the money raised will go towards the Chicago trip the band is taking in June 2017.
Ashland, IL – September 12, 2016 —The Dollar General Literacy Foundation recently awarded A-C Central Schools a $3,000 grant to support youth literacy. This local grant is part of $4.5 million in youth literacy grants awarded to approximately 1,000 organizations across the 43 states that Dollar General serves. Given at the beginning of the academic school year, these grants are aimed at supporting teachers, schools, and organizations with resources to strengthen and enhance literacy instruction.
