There will be a FAFSA Completion Night in the Library on Tuesday, October 24 at 6 pm for all Seniors and their parents/guardians. A representative from Lincoln Land Community College will be here to answer any questions and help with completing the process. It is recommended that ALL SENIORS and their families fill this out, even if they have not yet made a decision about their future plans. Families will need to bring their 2016 tax documents (including the students if they filed) as well as the student's computer (so we have access to the internet).
This semester Ms. Cooper's BSAA class has been studying a chick embryology unit. As of today we have 25 hatched chicks which is about a 75% success rate. They were in the incubator for 21 days before they hatched. All of these eggs must have been fertilized by a rooster in order to develop into a chick (the eggs you purchase from the grocery store will not develop into chicks). As the chicks grow up, they will develop feathers and the BSAA class will be studying animal behavior by observing their pecking order.
Red Ribbon Week will be held at A-C Central on October 23-27. During this annual event students will participate in a variety of activities encouraging them to "Say No To Drugs" and "Stand Up To Bullying". Each day during Red Ribbon Week students have the opportunity to dress up in a manner that illustrates the message of Red Ribbon Week.
Dress Up Days at A-C Central High School and Middle School are as follows:
Monday: Pajama Day "Say Goodnight to Drugs"
Tuesday: Twin Tuesday "Two Cute for Alcohol"

As a reward for our students on Friday, October 13th A-C Central High School and Middle School held our annual Positive Behavior Wiener Roast. Students and staff were treated to an outdoor cook out, s'mores, and extended recess time in recognition of our students making positive choices and doing the right thing. A good time was had by all!
The FFA held their annual Feed the Farmer and Labor Auction this past weekend. They served 150 people a donated dinner in the shop. The Alumni provided fried chicken for the event, and the students' families contributed dishes to pass. 39 students were auctioned off that night, which includes donating 4 hours of their time to the FFA for our fundraiser. While donations are still coming in, the total we have so far is just over $4000.
