Emergency Evacuation Drill

Submitted by siteadmin on Thu, 04/13/2017 - 08:25

On Thursday, April 13, 2017 A-C Central High School and Middle School, in conjunction with county and local law enforcement officials and first responders, will be conducting an Emergency Evacuation Drill beginning at 9:00 AM.

Please be advised that this is only a drill.  Much like fire drills and tornado drills the purpose of this Emergency Evacuation Drill is to simulate an emergency scenario that could potentially occur at school that requires the preparedness of staff and students.   As a part of this drill the school will go into a Hard Lockdown followed by an orderly and systematic evacuation of the building to a safe, remote location off-campus.

During the time of the April 13th drill you may see police, fire, and emergency vehicles at the school and you may hear sirens and alarms as the drill progresses.

Again, this is only a drill to better prepare staff, students, law enforcement, and emergency responders.  The drill should take no longer than an hour after which students and staff will return to campus and resume the regular school day.

If you have any questions or concerns in this regard please do not hesitate to contact me at 217-476-3312.

Thank you,

Stephen Groll
