Superintendent's Message

Hello and welcome to the A-C Central School website.  I am extremely excited to be a part of a school district with a long history and tradition of excellence.  A-C Central is proud to provide an outstanding and well rounded education to all of its students.  This is accomplished through current technology (a 1:1 initiative in the jr high/high school), excellent teachers, outstanding students, and a caring community.  We provide opportunities for students to fulfill their potential both in and out of the classroom.   Our school has been recognized many times over for excellence in education.  The real world is a dynamic and fluid place, and here we strive to broaden their horizons, and prepare them for the real world that awaits.

I grew up in Washington near Peoria. IL and was a very active student involved in everything from music to sports, from the classroom to church.  I received my bachelor's degree from Millikin University and spent my 1st 20 years in education as a band director at ages that include the 5th grade through college.  I have received graduate degrees and certificates from the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign as well as the University of Illinois in Springfield. Previously I was the principal and athletic director for Nokomis High School in Nokomis, IL.  I have a beautiful wife and 4 great kids from ages 6-17.  I am an avid Fighting Illini basketball fan and I also referee basketball with my wife as a regular crewmate at all levels from grade school through college women.

My personal philosophy of education is fairly simple.  Education should prepare students for life, and not all students’ lives look the same.  A quality education must consist of options that allow a student to broaden their horizons and prepare them for what best suits their individual strengths and interests.  I believe the adage that “knowledge is power” is true for today’s society more than ever before.  Today’s obstacles and challenges for public education, especially in small rural schools are significant, but I believe they can be overcome and I hope to be a part of that solution here at A-C Central.  I believe in open and honest communication, and I will insist that taxpayer dollars are put to the best use possible for our children’s education.

Again, I am extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to lead this school district through these difficult times.  I believe as a team, we can meet these challenges that lie ahead for our school district and continue to provide the opportunities for all of our students that will allow them to be successful.  If you ever have comments, questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to bring them to me so they can be addressed.
